TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME
Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a very rare but serious bacterial infection with symptoms like sudden high fever, diarrhea, nausea, severe muscle pain and headache, respiratory symptoms, skin rash and a lowered level of consciousness. The condition is often associated with the use of very absorbent tampons.
TSS is rare in connection with using a period cup. However, its early recognition and cure is vital, so if you have some of the symptoms mentioned above when using a cup, remove the cup and seek immediately medical advice. Remember to tell that you have been using a period cup.

A greener way to menstruate?
With the Lunette Menstrual Cup, you won’t just be saving money — you’ll be saving the planet, too! On average, menstruators will use 22 disposable products during a cycle — that adds up to a whopping 12,000 during a lifetime! All of that disposable waste adds up, which is where we come in.
A single Lunette Menstrual Cup can be reused for years before needing to be replaced, helping to ease the needless production and waste materials of disposable menstruation products. On top of that, our packaging is 100% recyclable and plastic-free, plus our cup pouches are made from recycled plastic. Take one small step to leave a smaller environmental footprint.

how to use a menstrual cup?
Rather than disposing of tampons and pads after each use, the Lunette Menstrual Cup is reusable and lasts for years. The cup is easy to insert, comfortable to wear and can be used for up to 12 hours. You can even wear it at night, ensuring you’ll always have a smooth period. The cup collects fluids instead of absorbing them, helping to keep you lubricated and comfortable throughout your cycle. When it’s time to empty the cup, just pour away the contents, rinse the cup clean, and repeat the process. It’s that simple!
simple sizing.
Just as no two people are identical, no two periods are the same. Your period is unique, which is why you need menstrual protection that’s made just for you. To make sure you’re as comfortable as possible during your period, we offer two distinct cup sizes, each with their own design.

model 1 for light flow.
If you normally change a low or regular-absorbency tampon or pad two to three times a day, this is the size for you.

model 2 for heavier flow.
Choose this size if you typically change high-absorbency tampons and pads every two to four hours, or more frequently.

By their nature, all Lunette cups are soft and pliable. Model 1, however, is made from softer silicone for enhanced comfort and ease of use. Model 2 is made of a firmer silicone than the Model 1, offering more protection from heavy bleeding.

Use the guide below to learn how to insert a menstrual cup and you’ll be a period ninja in no time.
1. fold
Fold the cup in on itself to make it flat and then in half to form a C shape.
2. insert
Get into a comfortable position and relax. Keep the cup folded and guide it into the vagina, rim first.
3. remove
Grasp the bottom of the cup and gently squeeze to break the seal — don’t pull the stem, it will just make the suction stronger. Empty out the contents of the cup into the toilet.
4. empty
Empty out the contents of the cup into the toilet. Rinse and use it again.
5. clean + sanitise
The Lunette cup should be cleaned before and after your periods, and after emptying. Wash using water and Lunette Cup Cleanser, which is specially designed for silicone cups.
