TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME
Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a very rare but serious bacterial infection with symptoms like sudden high fever, diarrhea, nausea, severe muscle pain and headache, respiratory symptoms, skin rash and a lowered level of consciousness. The condition is often associated with the use of very absorbent tampons.
TSS is rare in connection with using a period cup. However, its early recognition and cure is vital, so if you have some of the symptoms mentioned above when using a cup, remove the cup and seek immediately medical advice. Remember to tell that you have been using a period cup.
